This week we will be discussing the Economic of Healthcare, Politics and the law and Environmental health. You may ask why environmental health with economics, politics and law but environmental health is an important public health issue in this 21st century. As you probably have seen in the news the global warming is creating environmental issues such as longer winters and summers affecting the plantations of much of the products that we consume such as corn and wheat.

Please read chapter 7, 8 and 12 of the class textbook and review the attached Power Point presentation. Once you have completed the lecture, answer the following questions;

1. Define economic of healthcare, politics, law and environmental health and how they are related to public health?

2. From you own perspectives discuss the new healthcare act (Obama Care) and how it will benefit the delivery of public/community health nursing.

3. Identified 1 environmental health issue in your community and describe the issue, how affects the community and how it’s been address by the public health authorities
