Nursing theory has been described as containing three elements; content, process and context (Barnum, 1998). Review

the PowerPoint presentation and pursue a greater understanding of some of these contexts by referring to further

texts and articles.

In your assessed work, it is quite likely that you will primarily address issues related to the content and process

of nursing theory. For this unit, therefore, I would like you to address the third issue, context, by responding to

the following unit task: Identify one significant contextual influence that impacts the operationalization of

nursing theory. In other words, what is one of the forces that either encourage or discourage the use of nursing

theory?
